DARVAL/CPS is the exclusive representative of SCSR (System Controlled Shunt Reactor) technology in Brazil and Angola. DARVAL/CPS is partnered with SKRM, a European engineering company that integrates all necessary components of the compensation system (electro-magnetic part, capacitor banks, filters, automated control system, etc) to create tailor-made SCSR solutions.
SKRM is headed by the former general director of ZTR - the largest transformer manufacturer in Europe.
The MCSR is an unique solution, which offers a great number of advantages in comparison to any other available technology for flexible control of electrical systems:

The SCSR consists of a Magnetically Controlled Shunt Reactor, a capacitor bank and capacitance compensation filters. This system allows for flexible control of reactive power and tension stability within the network.
The solutions based on the SCSR resolve, among others, the following problems with efficiency and reduced costs:

Magnetically Controlled Shunt Reactors (MCSR)
The MCSR is an unique solution, which offers a great number of advantages in comparison to any other available technology for flexible control of electrical systems:
- The regulator, which adjusts the reactive power of the MCSR, only uses 1% of the MCSR's nominal power
- The regulator is a small unit comprised of a small transformer and a semiconductor rectifier
- The basic technology is similar to a high-power transformer, without OLTC (on load tap changer)
- There is no need to train additional personnel nor have special maintenance
- The tiristors used in the rectifiers are simpler and safer, with only isolated electric cables and no IGBT

Controlled Shunt Reactor System (SCSR)
The SCSR consists of a Magnetically Controlled Shunt Reactor, a capacitor bank and capacitance compensation filters. This system allows for flexible control of reactive power and tension stability within the network.
The solutions based on the SCSR resolve, among others, the following problems with efficiency and reduced costs:
- Management of the reactive power stabilization
- Improving the carrying capacity of electrical transmission lines
- Reducing loss of power within the network
- Reducing the number of equipment overhauls and improving overall performance issues
